The #PhysEdSummit Team is excited to introduce badges to the 2016 #PhysEdSummit.  This is an exciting new adventure for this year.  It would not be possible without the help of Alice Keeler.  She wrote a blog post that gave us a easy to use system for distributing the badges.  Read her blog post about how to gamify your PD to learn more.   Also a special thanks goes out to Collin Brooks for creating all the badges that the #PhysEdSummit team helped brainstorm.  Collin really did some impressive work on the badges!

Stages of Professionalism for a 21st Century #HealthEd and #PhysEd Teacher


In the spring of 2005 I was a Junior at Oregon State University sitting in Dr. Bradley Cardinal’s Exercise and Sport Science class. He introduced to me and the class to the stages of professionalism. This really hit home with me and inspired me to become a SHAPE America member. These stages have helped mold my professional involvement.  Not too long ago I posted a Tweet which listed the stages, and I started to think about how these stages look different for 21st century Health and Physical Education Professionals.

#PhysEdSummit 5.0 Call for Proposals

The #PhysEdSummit is back! We’re bringing you the #PhysEdSummit 5.0, a crowd-sourced, virtual conference featuring 24 hours of back-to-back, 50-minute #HealthEd and #PhysEd webcasts. It starts at 0800 (8am Eastern Time New York) on August 27, 2016. This FREE PD event will provide the global #HealthEd and #PhysEd communities access to presentations about best practices, teaching strategies, top tips, and cutting-edge resources.

The #PhysEdSummit wouldn’t be possible without our presenters. Our team is encouraging YOU to submit a session proposal. We want our facilitators to think “outside the box” and engage their audience with live, interactive, and innovative sessions!
