Naomi Hartl

Naomi Hartl graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011 and started teaching in her home province of Saskatchewan, Canada. She has taught a variety of subject areas, including physical education, health education, biology, mathematics, home economics, and career education. In 2015, she relocated to Oregon, USA, to work with School Specialty in curriculum development for the physical education market and is now the Science and STEM Subject Matter Expert.

Sarah G-H

Sarah Gietschier-Hartman teaches high school health and physical education in Clayton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas (2007) and Emporia State University (2010). Sarah has been a collaborator for PHYSEDagogy since 2014. In 2018, she was named the SHAPE America National Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Sarah believes the combination of these things―experiences, skills, knowledge, health and physical literacy development, guidance to be involved in lifelong physical activity, lesson progressions, planning, developmentally appropriate challenges, and authentic assessments―produces a learning environment that is engaging, challenging, reflective, and fun.

Jorge Rodriguez

Jorge Rodriguez is originally from McAllen, Texas and now lives in Houston. He attended the University of Houston where he was a high jumper on the track team and earned his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology with a minor in health. Jorge later went to receive his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. He is currently a physical education teacher at Harvard Elementary (an IB and STEM magnet school) in the Houston Independent School District, and is a Lead Teacher and the KEY teacher for physical education for the district. He is also an active member in Texas AHPERD, and sits on the recreation and social media committees and chairs the diversity section. Jorge absolutely loves his profession and is dedicated to do all he can to make it better!
